Last year our Antarctic Whale Defense Campaign was called Operation No Compromise because Sea Shepherd is not interested in any compromise deal that will legalize the slaughter of whales in the Southern Ocean. Sea Shepherd has long identified itself as Neptune’s Navy. Our campaign logo has been designed to show an angry Neptune – God of the Sea – bursting forth to the surface from the depths of the Southern Ocean to intercept and destroy an explosive tipped harpoon hurtling towards innocent whales from the Japanese whaling fleet. The phrase “Neptune’s Navy Never Compromises” is included to indicate that Sea Shepherd will never compromise in the battle to protect whales in the Southern Ocean. To show his support for Sea Shepherd’s mission to defend ocean wildlife worldwide, Neptune has a Sea Shepherd Jolly Roger logo (which includes Neptune's trident) tattooed on the right side of his chest.
