This year our Antarctic Whale Defense Campaign will be called Operation Divine Wind, Our Operation Divine Wind logo was designed with the assistance of Captain Watson and was based on the 13th century event of the Kamikaze, ‘Kami’ the ‘wind’ and ‘kaze’ translated as ‘divine’ or the ’wind of the Gods.’ that protected the Japanese from the fleets of Kublai Khan. Sea Shepherd calls upon the ‘Divine Wind’ to protect the whales from the cruelty and criminally lethal activities of the Japanese whalers. Our campaign logo has been designed to show two of our ships evoking the divine wind to protect a breeching whale, with a Shinto shrine gate and the Japanese Rising Sun in the background.
