On January 5, 2010, another Sea Shepherd anti-whaling ship arrived in the Southern Ocean during the 2009-2010 Antarctic Whale Defense Campaign, Operation Waltzing Matilda unexpected to the Japanese whalers and right on time: the M/Y Bob Barker. As a result of this surprise addition, Sea Shepherd was able to save 528 whales, which cost the illegal whalers millions of dollars.
