In 2009, thanks to a $5,000,000 contribution from American television personality Bob Barker, Sea Shepherd was able to quietly purchase and refit a former Norwegian whaler in Africa and named it the M/Y Bob Barker. This vessel was crucial in direct action against the whalers in our two last Antarctic Whale Defense Campaigns, Operation Waltzing Matilda and Operation No Compromise.
