Celebrate the beauty of the oceans without taking from them. These beautiful hand blown glass shells are reminiscent of conch shells. These unique shells are created right here in the San Juan Islands, home of the International Headquarters of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Rahman Anderson, owner of Isla Glass on Lopez Island, Washington, has been creating glass art for over 15 years. Mr. Anderson has always hoped that his artwork would be able to inspire awareness in people. “My latest body of work has been inspired by the life in the oceans. Whether communicating what resonates in the subtleties of colors in a shell or capturing the gesture of a whale moving gracefully under the surface, each piece feels like it is in it’s natural habitat. The message is simple. To all creatures, life is fragile.”
